IMAGING MACHINE

2008, Found- Footage Film, 5:20 Min., b&w/colour, stereo

The starting material for Imaging Machine comes from scenes from American entertainment films, in which people touch tenderly, violently or incidentally. The touched bodies and the backgrounds are removed image by image, only the hands are left and positioned on a black background. (Karin Fisslthaler)

Hands grip, stroke, scratch – they do all of that, also in this found-footage-film, but the object of their touch is missing. A fascinating look at the body, gestures and gender in films.(Vienna Independent Shorts)
